Life Skill Development Training

Date: 29th October 2022, Venue: Samprity Meeting Hall

Samprity Aid Foundation organized Life Skill Development Training for Speech and Hearing Impaired Adolescent boys and girls on 22nd October 2022 at Samprity Meeting Room under the project “Promoting education rights of girls with disabilities by preventing sexual harassment, abuse and exploitation” Project Number:CFLI-2022-DHAKA-0001 funded by CFLI/FCIL, High Commission of Canada to Bangladesh.

Key theme of the training was “Strengthening within”. Purpose of the Life Skills Development Training is to build confidence and adaptability capacity of adolescents to protect them from every odd. Make them capable to strengthen their capacity to prevent sexual harassment, abuse and exploitation. Total of 30 adolescents boys and girls attended the day long training program

Topic Discussed in the training are: Prevent eve teasing & sexual abuse, Unexpected Touch, Personal Protection, Misuse of Technology, Frustration & Drug Addiction, HIV/AIDS Prevention and Reproductive Health.

Facilitator of the Training was Program Officer of Samprity Aid Foundation Rehana Parvin while Teachers of Samprity Welfare School for Speech and Hearing Impaired Children interpret it using sign language. The teachers involved as Co-Facilitator are: Dipa Mandol, Shiba Mandol and Shapla Mandol.

At the end of the training the closing session was conducted. Headmaster of Gopinathpur Primary School Mr. Manidro Nath Sarker was Chief Guest of the session while Advisor of Samprity Aid Foundation and Executive Director of HEAD Mr. Louis Rana Gain was special guest of the session. Assistant Director of Samprity Aid Foundation Mrs. Moly Mandol Chaired the session.

Chief Guest Mr. Manindro Nath Sarker evaluated the training and encouraged them to use the learning in their personal life. He gave assurance to the students that they will always be on their side and provide every support as needed. Special Guest Mr. Louse Rana Gain advised the participants to continue the education. He added that education is the best way to transform life.

In her speech Chairperson of the closing session Mrs. Moly Mondal motivated children to attend school regularly. She advised that if any occurrence is happening on the way to school must inform the school authority. She assured that School authority is always on their side to ensure protection and you must deal with people with confidence.

She said that disability is not a barrier in life if they build their life with skills by education and training. He gave thanks to CFLI, High Commission of Canada to Bangladesh to support the Children with Disabilities for their Life Skill Development and protection.
